Today we toast the Hot Toddy. According the internet, the Hot Toddy originated in Scotland during the 1800s to make the locally produced scotch whiskey easier to drink. Or… it’s named for the Irish physician Robert Bentley Todd who created a similar cocktail, but with brandy and sugar. We see no need to dispute either story.
This being National Hot Toddy Day, we at Rogue Spirits offer our version of this centuries old classic.
Pour our Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, the honey and the lemon juice into a 6-ounce mug. Top with the boiling water and stir until the honey is dissolved.
By the way, the Hot Toddy is said to have healing powers. Even if those powers are only temporary, that’s a good enough reason for us.
