Famed for its warming and healing properties, the Hot Toddy is a cocktail that’s deceptively easy to make. The standard recipe includes a spirit, honey, lemon and hot tea.
Because Rogue Farms is in Oregon Hazelnut country, our Hot Toddy recipe includes Rogue Spirits Hazelnut Spice Rum which we crafted from fresh roasted hazelnuts grown by our next-door neighbors, the Kirk family.
The fresh hazelnut flavor adds depth and some extra warmth to this winter classic.
1.5 ounces Rogue Spirits Hazelnut Spice Rum
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup hot water
1 tea bag
Cinnamon stick (optional)
Start with boiling the water and steeping the tea. In a glass or mug, coat the bottom with the honey, then add the Hazelnut Spice rum and juice from the lemon. When the tea is ready, pour into the glass and stir. For a stronger version add the tea bag and cinnamon stick.
